Authentic Mexican…jackpot
Lucky enough to come across a authentic Mexican taster menu on wriggle. Always think its a bit of gamble going to these things but it really was a jackpot. Beautifully fresh and well presented food. Every one of the 6 courses had its own purpose and left us wanting more. The soup was unique and inspiring, imagine a south American tom yum. Cant wait for the next event 🙂

Christmas Drinks would not be the same without Tara’s annual festive knock out canapés. She arrives like a very special early Christmas present with her delicious and innovative canapés. These are always greedily welcomed by our guests who vie to be closest to the kitchen door as more hot and delicious treats are carried through by Tara’s highly efficient waiting staff. This year’s Brussels sprout croquettes were a triumph. My little secret is of course out as my friends shout in glee “Great, you have Tara back again!” I can only say a huge thank you and see you next year!

“I really hope that you feel a huge sense of pride in the canapés and food that you made for us last night. Without fail – everyone last night and in the messages this morning have been complimenting the quality and flavour of the food. The chorizo sausage rolls were superb, the tortilla lifted by the aioli, the aubergine so delicate and the yummy prawns – the flavour was spot on. The lamb the tagine melted in the mouth, and the pork dish beautifully balanced. The veggie tagine was a hit with the vegans, the chaps were easily persuaded to have seconds/thirds, and there is enough left over to have a couple of ‘family suppers’. Thank you so much”

The food was absolutely wonderful; we had courgettle fritters to with fresh tzatziki, lamb with spring veg and salsa verde which was beyond delicious; the lamb was succulent and accompaniments also spot on and to finish we had tarte au citron which was a special request and executed wonderfully. “Another great meal dished up by Tara, this time for 31 people, all cooked in a domestic kitchen, assisted by two lovely helpers who kept everyone’s glasses nicely topped up. Three delicious courses, with the starter plates (we had fennel risotto with vodka to die for) having to be washed up between courses to serve pudding on – in fact, all the washing up vanished seamlessly and, incredibly, silently, given that the kitchen/dinning room is open plan. Crucially, Tara deftly caught a ball that I had dropped – I had forgotten, until the main was seconds away from being served, that two of my guests were vegetarian, but Tara sprang to the rescue with a big smile. Thank-you letters from guests included comments like: ‘Thank you for bringing back ta-ra Tara who delivered top grub’. Thank you and the girls for helping to make it a most memorable and enjoyable evening.”
